You're reading it, baby! Except we aren't frequently asked anything. These are just questions that we've answered. Some of them we posed to ourselves like real weirdos. Enjoy!
"Sit on it and spin" is an old insult that is floating around in my memory. I'm not sure where I've heard it exactly. Old movies probably. I hear it being said by some suit in a black-and-white scene. Say it with your best James Cagney impression. "Hey you lousy jamoke. Why don't you sit on it and spin, see?" There's actually not much information that I could find about it when I went looking. A shorter version, "sit on it," was a favorite phrase of Fonzie on Happy Days. So, we're in good company here. What we've done, quite cleverly, is to substitute the word "sip" for "sit" so that we could make it about drinking cocktails. Hilarious, I know. Also, drinking could lead to spinning, both the good and the bad kind. Or it could quite literally lead to lowered inhibitions and spinning on the dance floor, both the good and the bad kind. I'm not sure what portion of our potential audience will know this reference. It's entirely possible that it will be amusing solely to my wife and myself. Why would we name our site with a pun in the first place, let alone one that is so obscure that it's not even recognizable as a pun? Well, that's just the kind of thing we like.
The "Classics" menu is reserved for cocktails that have endured the test of time. They are recognizable and popular. The kind of drink where you'd say, "oooh that drink is a classic drink." They are also drinks that we have not altered or customized. They are also part of our journey and there for your convenient reference. They also are helpful in landing us in organic search results. What!? They can serve multiple purposes!
These are cocktails that we have made our own. Generally, we'll start with a different recipe or an idea and we'll tweak it until we both make a satisfied, "ahhh" sound. That's how we know it's ready. We name it something ridiculous and we publish it on the site.
Ok, you're clearly just going through the menu and asking about each item. Now you're just getting lazy. This one is pretty self explanatory.
Oh... that button? Well... that button does terrifying, wonderful things. Definitely don't click that button. I mean, we do. Click it, that is. Frequently.
Well, that's very nice of you to ask and say. Close observers will note that each category of alcohol has its own color scheme. These colors show up in the top navigation, menus, headings, and informational boxes.
